Lisa Calhoun OwenWriter/Songwriter/Story TellerLisa Calhoun Owen was born and raised in Garner, North Carolina. She has a BA in Sociology/Criminal Justice from UNC-Wilmington and is also a graduate of Salemburg Justice Academy. Her early years were spent as an NC Probation/Parole Officer and she is currently an NC Guardian Ad Litem. Lisa has spent her life writing books, songs, poetry, articles and much more in her free time. After raising her children, Matthew and Meghan Reilly, she is now able to focus on the career she has always been so passionate about. She is also the proud grandmother to Jayden and Everley Rose and loves to spend time with family and friends. Her inspiration comes from the love she has of those close to her and living at the beach. Matthew ReillySoldier/WriterMatthew is the son of Lisa and District Attorney Scott Reilly of Hickory, N.C. He was raised in both Hickory and Charlotte. He spent five years in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer serving in South Korea and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He won several awards including one for saving the life of a fellow soldier. He was active in the National Guard and attending Appalachian State University at the time of his death. Matthew enjoyed his family, friends, volunteering, riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Hi Rollers of Charlotte. He loved to volunteer for ROTC, Hope For All Dogs Rescue, hiking, flying, kayaking, fishing in Alaska and lived his life to the fullest. Matthew was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident on Memorial Day 2017 and donated his organs through Sharing Hope of N.C. He is buried in Conover, N.C. |
